Create an Accent with Track Lighting
Versatility in lighting is an extremely useful feature. Most houses,
of any area, have fixed lighting ports. Generally, most lights hang from
the center of the room. If you want to concentrate lights off center from
your main light, you would have to rewire your house or build your house
from scratch. That solution is a touch extreme.
Track lighting gets around that situation. You have the capability to place
multiple lights along a track to light a certain area. So, if you have your
normal light hanging from the center, instead you can have multiple tracks
stretching to the corners of the room, and on each track spot lights can point
in any direction you choose. This way, you can concentrate lights in certain
areas of the room. If you have art hanging on your walls you can have several
spotlights on a track, each pointing to a different piece. Track lighting
truly works as accent light.
Track lighting can be used on walls as well as ceilings. If the track is placed
on the wall then the spotlights can be more horizontal and create a totally
different lighting effect. A different accent is created.
This style of lighting was, and is, used predominately by retail premises
before it become popular in the home. Jewelers, clothing retailers, even
butchers to name just a few, use track lighting to effectively light their
stock. This style of track lighting can spread focus through a large area so you
are not limited by one bulb doing one thing in one place.
Track lighting gives you multiple options for lighting your home; options that
cannot be given to you with conventional standalone lighting.
