The Magnifying Lamp is Your Friend
Our eyes are constantly under tremendous strain with such things as television and computers
demanding our attention and an equal amount of concentration. Eyes are put under further
strain if you have to do up-close handiwork as part of your job or as a hobby. A jeweler or
someone who does needlework, for example, are two people who have close-up work needs. These
tasks can put immense pressure and strain on the eyes. A magnifying lamp can help.
Often, standard table lamps are inadequate for the job. The light source is too far away and
the person using it still needs to get their head close enough to the job. That can mean a
shadow is cast over the work and making the job even more difficult. Magnifying glasses can
be used but are not recommended as they are not free-standing and one hand is needed to control
them. This is not ideal as most hobbyists of any kind require the use of two hands.
Magnifying lamps take the strain out of your eyes, give you back the light you need and help
you complete your jobs with relative ease. The lamp has a movable magnifying glass which can
be placed just centimeters above the work. This immediately makes everything more visible.
The bonus lies with the light being placed just under the rim of the glass so the area is well
lit too. The placing of the light is critical to the success of the lamp as if it is too far
from the object then there is more chance that the light will create shadows and more problems.
The magnifying lamp is the must-have item for hobbyists and manufacturing professionals. If
you choose not to have one, not only are you risking the quality of the goods you are producing
but also your eyesight.
