Save your Lamp with some Lamp Parts
The lamp which serves many functions is one of the most basic items you
can find in your house. When broken down the elements are basic, the bulb,
the shade, the stem, the cable. Not all lamps have these parts either, as
portable lamps, such as torches, don’t have cables. So, in some cases, the
parts are even more basic.
Fortunately it is easy to find replacement parts for your lamp. Light bulbs
are readily available in every shape, colour, brightness and style. Shades are
available in glass, enamel, cloth, paper, parchment, a host of different metals
as well as being monochrome, colour and patterned. The body of lamps can be
changed from ceramic to bronze, metal to wood. If you choose to you can start
with one lamp, change all the parts and end up with a custom lamp of your own
design. This demonstrates the absolute versatility and flexibility of the lamp.
It is totally modular to the point that you can create one lamp from another just
by switching a few parts.
Replacement parts are useful as we all have a favorite lamp we want to go on
forever. The parts are so easily available that if your lamp fails, for whatever
reason, it doesn’t have to go the lamp graveyard. Each lamp is savable. Lamps,
generally, don’t have a meltdown. Their problem can be isolated and fixed with
relative ease. Bulbs are the easiest element to replace as we all know how to
change a light bulb. The fuse in the plug may be an issue, as can the neck where
the bulb is fixed. These problems are not terminal, and with the correct lamp parts
and the inclination, your lamp can be glowing in the dark again.
