Antler Lamps are Always Original, Guaranteed
Antler lamps are an extremely ornate creation. Using the antlers of deer, reindeer,
elk and other stag like creature, creative country artisans have created spectacular
lamps and light fittings. To indicate such creativity most antler lamps do not have
a flat base on which they sit. The multiple ‘points’ of the antler, and the angles
they are at, create a free-standing lamp. They are unlike any other style of lamp
available on the market. Antler lamps are truly uniqe.
Unlike elephant tusks, which require the elephant to die in order to produce the ivory,
deer antlers are shed naturally with no harm to the animal involved. In the case of the
deer, the annual shedding is caused by decreasing testosterone levels in the deer’s blood.
Normally, just before winter, as that signifies the end of the breeding season and the
antlers will not be necessary over winter. If antler shedding seems like a random occurrence
it is not. Deer tend to shed their antlers in the same week every year. This is how antler
lamps are reasonably easy to produce in terms of sourcing the main material. The difficulty
is in the construction with cables having to be fed through the core of the antler.
Antlers are like fingerprints to humans. Each set is different so the antler structure is
always unique. This is a bonus to the antler lamp buyer as they are buying an original,
unique product. Antler desk and table lamps are readily available as are chandeliers.
Normally, found as cabin furniture, antler lamps are now getting many sales from urbanites
wanting a taste of the country without having to leave city limits.
Antler lamps provide that escapism and originality that people are looking for.
